Iowa 4-H Alumnus Brad Hook Serves as TODAY Show Anchor
New York—4-H Alumnus Brad Hook from Humeston, Iowa, recently was “Anchor for Today” on NBC’s TODAY Show after beating out thousands of contestants for the honor.
To get the job, Brad submitted a video of himself that was posted on the TODAY Show Web site. Once he was chosen as a semi-finalist by votes from viewers, he participated in a trivia challenge and attempted to forecast the weather.
Brad, a TODAY Show regular viewer, said he had not planned to enter the contest until he saw the other videos and believed he had a shot. While on the show, fellow hosts Ann Curry, Natalie Morales and Al Roker asked Brad how their days differed. "My day's completely unplanned. Your day is planned per second," Brad quipped.
