Funding Available for 2008 4-H Volunteer Forums

National 4-H Council, in partnership with Monsanto, is pleased to announce the availability of funding supporting Regional and State 4-H Volunteer Forums for 2008. Funding will underwrite each of the Regional 4-H Volunteer Forums and one State 4-H Volunteer Forum (or similar volunteer development event) in each state or US territory. This opportunity is in keeping with Monsanto's long-time interest in 4-H volunteerism through past support of the Salute to Excellence Volunteer Recognition Program and the 2007 4-H Volunteer Initiative Funding.

This is a great opportunity to further 4-H volunteer development. The Request for Applications is available on-line at fourhcouncil.edu. The two-page application is due at National 4-H Council by close of business on Monday, November 19, 2007. Collaboration among LGU's is encouraged.

Deliverables for this opportunity are minimal and include promotion of the sponsorship through the printed event program, display of a sponsorship banner/board, and inclusion of the sponsorship in local and regional media forum promotions. One additional requirement will be the invitation for a Monsanto representative to speak at the regional and selected state events, and additional states may be targeted for a specific media release on a volunteer or volunteer program with the release generated by National 4-H Council. Final reporting will simply be the provision of collateral and the number of volunteers who attended.

There were 48 states, 3 US Territories, and 4 Extension Regions who took advantage of this opportunity for 2007.
