Monsanto's DEKALB WingWear Launches "Strong Roots. Strong Traditions." Holiday Essay Contest

Monsanto's DEKALB WingWear has launched its "Strong Roots. Strong Traditions." holiday essay contest on its Web site, www.DEKALBWingWear.com.
The contest invites youths from 14-24 years of age to explain in 300 words or less why staying grounded in their roots is important to them. Four first-place winners will receive a $100 DEKALB WingWear shopping spree, and one grand-prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize in addition to a $500 donation in their name to the FFA, 4-H, Ag in the Classroom or other ag youth organization of their choice.
"DEKALB places a lot of value on strong roots and strong traditions," says Jason Hoag, U.S. Marketing Manager for DEKALB corn. "A portion of every DEKALB WingWear purchase helps fund ag youth scholarships. This holiday contest is just one more way we can recognize tomorrow's leaders in agriculture."
The DEKALB WingWear "Strong Roots, Strong Traditions" holiday essay contest is open December 3, 2007 - January 7, 2008, with winners to be notified in late January. Essays will be judged on creativity, positive messaging and essay title. For a complete set of rules or to submit an essay, please visit www.DEKALBWingWear.com.
Monsanto and the DEKALB brand have a long tradition of supporting youth in agriculture. DEKALB WingWear is a clothing line featuring custom-designed graphic apparel and accessories for young men and women.
