Funding provided by JCPenney Afterschool Fund

For the past five years, the JCPenney Afterschool Fund has positioned itself as the premier corporate partner of after-school. Contributions from the JCPenney Afterschool Fund have allowed youth development organizations to increase site support, build strong collaborations and provide diverse programming at the local level. Today, partners such as 4 H, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA and Junior Achievement are working together in unprecedented collaborative efforts to ensure that all youth have a safe and enriching place to go during the out-of-school-hours. The JCPenney Afterschool Fund has built this critical infrastructure that has led to improved quality, greater access and increased awareness of after-school programs across America.

In 2006-07 JCPenney Afterschool Fund is eager to expand on what it has helped to create by providing support for young people to attend after-school programs. In support of this effort, National 4-H Council is providing mini-grants supported by the JCPenney Afterschool Fund to county-based 4 H programs to increase access for youth currently not in after-school programs, or on the verge of leaving after-school programs due to a lack of funds. In addition to the financial support to attend an after-school program, the JCPenney Afterschool Fund will also give youth supported by the mini-grants a JCPenney Gift Card they may use to purchase back-to-school supplies.
